No Gods, No Monsters by Cadwell Turnbull
5.0

This book is so strange and beautiful.

The writing should be studied in schools. I could read it 10 more times and keep finding new things. It IS challenging. At first, I wanted to start a list of each character and place and monster and narrator. Instead, I just gave into it. Let it take me along its ebb and flow and eddy.

This doesn’t sit within the confines of any genre and there’s no synopsis that would do it justice. Even the author wrote a half-explanation half-apology blog post on his site.

No Gods, No Monsters is the first in a trilogy and I am fully on board for the next 2 books.
