I was so intrigued and excited by the blurb but parts of this definitely felt rushed and unfinished.
I’m a sucker for the rejected mate trope and a good grovel - sadly there was practically no groveling from these alphas. They left Evie half bonded and rejected to get her to leave them. Meanwhile the head alpha pined for an omega who left their pack.
I wanted to love Evie. She’s badass. She didn’t take any of Damien’s shit and showed him who’s boss. She was the perfect mix of sweet, sassy, and strong. I really thought she had more of a backbone and was going to have her pack on their knees begging for forgiveness.
After she ends up in the hospital because of her half bonds the book skips a few weeks, and the characters say she’s holding herself in her room away from them. But that’s it all that time just missing.
They gave her a new room/nest, said sorry and that was basically all the groveling we saw. One time hop later and the next thing we know she's in heat and is like sure come help me through this.
It all felt rushed, and I wish we saw more of their inner turmoil or struggles with everything that they put her through and how they were going to fix things.
All in all, it was okay but had the potential to be great.
