This is not an ordinary romance. Rhodes (Rho) was a victim of a fire when she was 13. She lost her family, and was taken in by her best friend's family, who fostered her and others. Now, years later, Rho wants to renovate her family's house. Anson is part of the construction crew, a fire specialist, working for Rho's brother Shep. They meet and he is brooding over her recklessness. Rho doesn't understand why he is so closed off, as this is Shep's best friend. As they learn more about each other, Rho realizes that Anson is hiding a lot behind his rough exterior. When Rho's life is in danger, Anson's instincts are needed to save Rho. 

I enjoyed reading this novel, and I liked the mystery behind the fire and the guilt that Anson had. I will read more of this series.
