A Promise of Fireflies by Susan Haught
5.0
Haught's writing has a lovely, lyrical quality I only wish my own stories had. Descriptions are vivid, and she brings the settings — from the Arizona mountains to a small town in upstate New York to a swanky Colorado resort — to life.
Ryleigh and Logan are both wonderful characters, and I love the sassy exchanges between them. The rest of the cast, from Ryleigh's son and the mysterious Ambrose to best friend Nat and ex-husband Chandler all have their place and do exactly what they're supposed to. Chandler is the kind of guy you — or at least I — love to hate.
I look forward to reading more from Ms. Haught.
