A second chance love story between criminal psychologist Carly Dennison and Dr. Beck Monroe. They were young lovers, their first in everything, but were separated due to circumstances stemming mostly from Beck. Now it is seven years later and it seems like fate has brought them both back to the small town where they had fallen in love. For Beck, he wants that second chance but for Carly, she is still angry and not willing to risk the heartbreak. The chemistry is still very strong and it does not take long to act on it, but the hurt is still there and Carly is not sure she can trust it. But Beck is determined to earn her forgiveness and win back her trust and ultimately her heart.
Overall, Beck and Carly’s story was a wonderful read. All of the emotions, scorching chemistry, drama, great secondary characters, and the suspense element definitely added to my enjoyment of this book.
