Flew by once again. I commend WJW for having both a strong male and female lead. Though if I had to venture a critique I would say that I can’t help but note that while the brilliant Caroline Sula is allowed her fair share of fallibility and vulnerability, the equally brilliant Gareth Martinez is somewhat short changed in this department. Both see their share of mishaps in book 2 but while Gareth’s are largely attributed to the failings of other people, Caroline’s mistakes are hers. In the same vein, even though Sula clearly has a strength and timeline that is her own, hers does seem to shrink a little when in the presence of Martinez. They both need to be taken down a notch, though.
