I have read a lot of no and low spice romance books, a lot of which are set in Cornwall, and this has to be the be the worst one I have ever come come across. I will add I listened to the audiobook which did not help the rating at all. The narrator could not do character voices and especially male voices. Indeed, the main male character seem permanently uptight and robotic - not anything like the handsome and swoon-worthy gardener he is meant to be.

The miscommunication trope went on for far too long as it too unbelievable. Sure, I can understand that when a man and woman move in next door you assume they are a couple rather than brother and sister. If you start thinking it odd that he was coming round and happy to go out for a meal with you alone. At some stage the question of where they met and how they had been together would come up. You would also refer to her as 'my sister' at some point. Why would you keep going after him if you thought he was in a relationship? Also, if the sister was so famous then any kind of love interest she had would be all over the news sites and social media. When he walks into her house and sees the paper hearts being cut out he immediately thinks she is doing this because she is heartbroken over another man! He doesn't think this could actually be because she is the headmistress of a primary school with a Valentine's disco coming up! Also, if you had someone come around to your house and it was messy you would apologise and explain the mess!

The issue of the school closing and being merged into a super school 10 miles away was also badly handled. You don't get news like that from a single telephone call. Decisions that big aren't just made with prior consultations nor done so quickly. You also can't build a school and have it ready in a matter of months.

The idea of a parent being able to have free run of the school building was ludicrous. Even as head of the PTA and a school governor she should not be going into school and the staff room in the manner she did. I couldn't believe it when the headteacher started talking about another pupil with her!

There are so many other things I could mention as this was just so infuriating. I'm so disappointed as I hoped I had found a new Cornish romance series I could get into but this is one to avoid.
