I was honestly pretty disappointed in First Frost. I really loved Garden Spells so I had high hopes for the sequel. But this was so repetitive. It kept retelling the first book. I can't even count the number of times she used the words "first frost," and how often she referred to the "year everything changed." It all felt very forced. My favorite part was the fig and pepper bread recipe. I can't wait to try it, even though the book left out the amount of pepper to add (2 tsp).
