Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy
3.0

I have to be honest and tell her how I feel. I need her. Desperately.

If I were to use the Kelvin scale for sexy hotness this book would be rated Supernova. What with two incredibly attractive people and their chemistry buildup from years, it was bound to explode.

This is a sexy yet frustrating story of two people who were meant to be together from childhood but are separated by miscommunication and misguided culpability.

In regards to charming and inviting Colin, the deeply seated but misplaced guilt that plagued Colin not only in his waking hours but also during his sleep was sad to witness. Because it made him have to wear a mask so no one could see his shame, and erroneously act as an overbearing, overprotective older brother towards Jen and keep them from pursuing a real romantic relationship.

What really did me in and annoyed me was Jen and her unexplained and repeating confusion. I understand that at twenty years one is still young and perhaps overwhelmed and yes, confused. But I would expect that what went through while being alone would have helped her focus and mature and not make her act all over the place wishy-washy sending Colin mixed signals that only aggravated their combustible but communication lacking relationship.
For whatever reason, I’m beyond irritated, sick of him always running to my rescue, always trying to tell me what to do. I’m probably being completely irrational.

May be I’m being a bit harsh with my 3 star review. Overall I liked the story and am always looking forward to reading fun stories with a happily ever after.
