Murder with Peacocks by Donna Andrews
3.0

Meg is home for the summer to plan 3 weddings: her best friend's, her brother's, and her mother's. After the first round of parties, an irritating, unlikable guest disappears and then is found dead. Meg's dad, a retired doctor and mystery lover, begins to investigate. Meg is helping between duties and crushing on the dress shop owner's son, Michael, who is rumored to be gay. There are several attempts on Dad's life which lead to an accidental death. The sheriff finally gets interested. First wedding: best friend Eileen goes off. Second is Rob's where the bride flees with a groomsman after the ceremony which sends Rob off to get an annulment. Third is when Dad objects because says Jake is a murderer, and Meg realizes how it was done. Dad remarries Mom. Oh and the peacocks were brought in for the second wedding and Mom's.

Fun but long romp. Even murder and death doesn't stop a Southern wedding.
