1906ds 's review for:
Theogony, Works and Days
by Hesiod
informative
fast-paced
Quick and easy. Wish the whole thing was written in verse, rather than prose with occasional moments in verse. Those occasional moments in verse suddenly made the language feel more elevated. Theogony is full of wonderful imagery of titans vs gods, and ends with an overwhelming catalogue of births. Works and Days is old, outdated Wisdom literature, but with some mythology (the creation and 5 ages of gods and men) sprinkled in.
