The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali by Sabina Khan

4.0

This was more like a 90 minute read, and I sped things along because I felt like I knew the arc of the story and wouldn’t miss much by reading a bit of the middle and the last few chapters. Bravo for shedding light and holding up the humanity of LGBTQ Muslims. The dialogue felt flat, but I loved the descriptions of culture, food, and Rukhsana’s code switching.
