Having seen this fandom through booktok, I was intrigued and wanted to try reading it. I knew of the ratings and warnings but I still found it hard to read certain parts, being partly why I took so long to finish it. In the end, I understood more how to approach reading books like this.
In the end, I did enjoy it and from it I learned the idea of something being horrible is dependent of perspective and knowledge a lot of the time. No one does things without reason and history, and this can’t make it okay, but it can explain it.

Just know what you’re getting into and please read all the warnings. I read the warnings but I didn’t truly know the severity of them until I read. (When I read, it’s like I’m living whatever is happening, so there were scenes that were really difficult to read.)
