Might have liked this book more if I was better acquainted with Hindu mythology but alas. I think I have to accept that anytime a male MC is kind of sort of a religious allegory and is supposed to be like the coolest dude ever, I will not like that book (shoutout to Dune). Also, as in many classic Sci-Fi books …. The women were …. Bad. Wish that some of these writers could figure out how to write a female character that had traits other than “sexy” or “sadly unsexy” and had motivations other than “trying to bang male MC”. Unfortunately, as we know, women with personalities in fiction were invented in 2010.
