Howards End
by E.M. Forster
The novel and its many themes intrigue me, but I think I found the latter half of it the most engaging. I loved Miss Avery – I thought she was a breath of fresh air – though I have read one scholar who called her "odd and rather demonic." The other characters I could relate to in one way or another, so I found them believable if tiresome, and sometimes surprising, which is the mark of good literature, I think. Definitely worth a read.
