The Heartless Divine by Varsha Ravi

4.0

don't talk to me.

This, like the Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, for me is one of those books that just get you; filled to the brim with words plucked right from your brain and it just pushes all the right buttons. The Heartless Divine scarred me in the best way possible, this story and these words have moved into my heart - and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished it for the first time.

This book is so intimate, so heartfelt, so full of life and love and hope, all the while it manages to be real and stark about humanity's brokenness, evil, and destructive and self-preserving tendencies.

Gods and humans alike are imperfect and full of potential, trying their best to live and love, and you will feel it. Hard and all-encompassing.
