Gloria Steinem wrote this book to share the stories of others whose lives intertwined with her own, even if only briefly. It's in those stories that the book is most powerful. She writes, "I discovered the magic of people telling their own stories to groups of strangers." She shares memories of conversations with men and women of all races, backgrounds, and experiences, and through those she discussed how she has been impacted by them. This book opened my eyes certainly to the varied experiences of humans on this earth, and I'm all the better for it.
