The Woman Next Door by Cass Green

3.0

Read the book in 24 hours, so it clearly got my attention and kept me hooked, but it definitely felt a bit far-fetched. The two main characters (Hester in particular) were also a bit too “stock” for me, and both characters managed to be though quirky and at times sympathetic, largely unlikeable, so I struggled to really root for either one. Nevertheless, this was a quick-paced read, but lacked some of the believability, danger & stakes that typify the genre for me.
