Slow to start for the first 100 or so pages but once the story got going I was SO invested. This isn’t a romance heavy book (although I can’t wait to see the potential in the second book), it focuses more on personal journey, family and self acceptance. I grew to really respect Veronyka and how she stood by her convictions. Tristan and Sev were amazing characters as well, all of them approaching this war of the animages against the Empire from different angles. A truly unique and brilliant start to what is sure to be an explosive trilogy! I’ve already got the second book on the way and I know I’ll be as equally excited for the finale to release in July!
