CMQ knows how to write queer romance and has absolutely done it again with The Pairing.
As frustrating as the two leads were at times (in typical romance fashion), I thought all the characters were likeable, complex, and sympathetic in their own ways. I enjoyed reading the progression of the two romantic leads' rekindling their relationship set against a backdrop of - oftentimes mouthwatering - European food, wine, and desserts. The writing was decadent and really encapsulated the sensory experience of a summer vacation in Europe, basking in sunlight and exploring new cultures via culinary offerings.
