I struggled to finish this book. It was a massive dragging disappointment. Parts of it were good, I enjoyed reading about the historical events and places she had been. But overall it was so anticlimactic and boring.
I feel like a lot of the book was unnecessary and the story could easily be condensed. Maybe the editor gave up reading it, too. I wouldn’t blame them.
I really don’t agree with the hype on this one. It was painful! And three stars was generous. I did read this in the midst of a pandemic. All it did was give me an existential crisis.
I thought I was crazy so I also had my grandmother read it. But she disliked it even more than me, so there’s that.
