I'll save my gushing fangirl rant on Fredrik Backman, it's evident I love his work. This one is different. I didn't know what journey we were going to take and boy was it interesting! A kind of twist on "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Carol" but not at the same time. In watching too many kind souls pass away recently (as is often the case during a pandemic) I keep thinking back to, "not a death for a death but a life for a life". The soul isn't given in death, it's created in living. What a profound statement! Thought-provoking and existential.
