Justice League, Volume 2: The Villain's Journey by Geoff Johns

3.0

Not as much fun as Vol. 1, this story takes a five year time jump, which is necessary for the plot to work (they have to be established as the earths protectors) but doesn't feel right (they sure don't act like they have been working together for very long). I understand why comic book companies tie their titles together so much these days in an attempt to increase readership but this Justice League story is so full of side plots or references to stories in the past (the missing five years or other titles) that it takes the wind out of it's own sails. As the subtitle indicates the most interesting character is the villain and even though he is not a member of the league it feels more like Steve Trevor's story where the Justice League are the supporting cast.
