“I’ll give you what you need. But one day, you’ll know that the safest place for you to be is in my arms.”

I just finished reading this book and I likeed it more than I was expecting! Sofiya was such a breath of fresh air in the world of mafia FMC's. She was sweet, innocent and forgiving but she was also smart and brave when needed. I liked that despite her condition, she was no damsel in distress and didn't need rescuing and the last half made me respect her more for it! Matteo was a grump and while in the beginning, he was an asshole, he still couldn't help but resist Sofiya's sunshine energy! I liked how he melted so easily after truly seeing her for what she was and the way she had him and his soldiers whipped for her was hilarious! Also, I loved the side characters. They were well sketched and humorous, especially Mila, Sienna, Romeo & Angelo. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book but I think Matteo should've groveled for what he did. Because there was this one huge incident after his actions hurt Sofiya and when they found each other again, it was all so easily forgiven and then there were time jumps. So if that one thing was handled better, this book would've been a five star read for me tbh. But still, the rest of the book was enjoyable, with strong characters, a solid plot and some amazing chemistry between Matteo & Sofiya that made me feel all the butterflies! I can't wait to see what's coming next in this series!
