The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
2.0
I read this book because I feel like I see it quoted all the time. While I enjoyed the style and prose of the book, the message of the book was severely lacking. As a Christian reader, and the way Coelho attempted to mix religious and spiritual ideologies was awkward and nonsensical. This book felt more akin to the stories of Alice and Wonderland, The Little Prince, or The Phantom Tollbooth. Quaint, silly, convoluted, and mostly nonsensical.
