Love & Other Disasters
by Anita Kelly
Love the representation in this book! We need more stories like this one. I cannot resist a love story involving food. I love that both Dahlia and London had real problems outside of their relationship and dealt with those problems as individuals instead of having those problems be fixed simply by them being together.
The writing was not for me (instead of seeing the scenes I wanted to see play out, we often got internal monologues from the two main characters after the fact). I also don’t like the instalove trope and I felt like the writer had a hard time integrating other characters besides the main couple into the story.
Regardless, it was a refreshing read!
