I like Heidi Swains books, they are eminently readable and fluffy escapist novels.

However, this one contains quite a few bug bears of mine. One is ignoring the realities of Brexit and the loss of free movement that means, no, you can't just move to Barcelona anymore when the mood strikes you. Yes, it's fiction, but the book should still operate in the reality we have now and not ignore it as if it never happened.

The second bugbear is grammatical: between you and I when it should be between you and me. That's a complete "right off" as the book also proclaims. Who proofread this?

Other than that, it's a nice enough story, but I've already forgotten most about it, except that miscommunication is a stupid trope - so much heartache could be avoided if people would just talk to each other instead of assuming things!
