Odd Girl Out: An Autistic Woman in a Neurotypical World by Laura James

I didn’t feel I had anything in common with the author. She led a simple life with almost zero obstacles and came across as a petulant whining child.

The stream of consciousness style of writing got old real quick, especially when she was writing from the perspective of her childhood self. It was an incoherent mish mash of thoughts from childhood with the occasional explanation for said thoughts that could only have come from adulthood.

It didn’t seem authentic or even slightly introspective, and I learned nothing of use at all.
