Fun concept about the dangers of “living history”. However, character development with Sylvie a bit flat with hints of queerness. Moss focuses solely on the fear driving the character, but I think this can limit a lot.

Wider themes of what is the “real” Britain are very well done. Slyvie’s father is essentially a Brexiteer who is obsessed with bringing it back to the old days to the extent of putting his daughter and wife at risk.

Writing is like poetry. No speech differentiations can make it feel occasionally difficult to read, yet the intended effect is to show Slyvie’s monotonous terror albeit this is betrayed by how much Moss packs in such a small word count.
