I just feel like this book spent a lot of time pointing things out but not saying anything about it. The writing style was grating to me, but it definitely fit the story in a way that feels intentional and like skillful writing. But overall it was fun and easy, a perfect middle of the road book I don't regret reading but that I'll probably never think about again. I would watch a movie version though!
