Good book for a 6th grade girl. Highly recommend for girls starting puberty. I also recommend that moms read this first or with their daughters to start life discussions.
I like to pre-read books like this for my daughter to ensure there isn't anything I should be concerned about. And also to know what kind of things she may start asking. It helps with context to make the conversations easier. Some topics may not seem like much to us as adults are actually hard for young girls to talk about, such as: periods, getting books, bullying, liking boys, etc. Discussing in the hypothetical, like what happened in the book, helps ease the conversation.
