Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
4.0

I first started reading this book series in 4th/5th grade and probably finished in 6th grade. That was around 10 years ago?

Now, I'm a sophmore in college and I decided I want to reread this series after watching the first season of the TV show Alex Rider on Amazon Prime. I didn't remember a lot about the series, but I did remember that they kinda skipped the first book in the TV show.

Stormbreaker is a good start to this series. I stand by rating it 4 stars as I did 5 years ago when I created my goodreads and rated this book by memory. If I read this book for the first time now, I'd probably feel more inclined to rate it 3 stars. There are a lot of unrealistic things about this book, but mainly that's just the premise and nothing can be faulted for that. I mean come on, Alex Rider is a 14 year old spy for MI6. What do you expect?

I still enjoyed reading the book and it was a fun read. It totally feels like an episode of Totally Spies with the gadgets that Smithers gives Alex and how they end up being useful later on in the book. It's a good start.

Also, I'm 19 now and I'm no where near as cool as Alex is at 14 in the first book ahaaha oh well that's to be expected. I remember reading this when I was a kid and assuming that I would be that cool when I became 14. Oh, how I would've disappointed my 10 year old self if she could see me now.

Anyway, long overdue tangent that isn't even part of a review... I will be continuing to read this series.
