The Santa Suit by Mary Kay Andrews

I did not like this book. Luckily it was super short and I was able to get through it very quickly. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters and was put off by some of the story lines.

For instance, Phoebe’s online relationship where she gave a fake photo and then had to loose weight and dye her hair? Or Ezra continuing to force himself on Ivy. Why is this a thing in books. This is not the first author I’ve read who does this. Why are we still writing stories like this? Like women need men to tell them how to feel and when to feel it. And then the ending where Ivy and Ezra just fall into bed and after the first time are talking about how the farm and the house are theirs? Oh I forgot about the online stalking…that was super creepy.

This book was supposed to be fun and full of holiday cheer but I just feel like it missed the mark with all these strange story lines and the behavior of these characters. The main story was certainly Hallmark-es but the implementation was way off the mark.

I do not recommend.

Not a great start to my 2022 reading. Hopefully this will get better.
