The Wishing Game
by Meg Shaffer
I had fun with this book and cried a few happy tears too. As an adult who escaped into books and reading (both in childhood and now) this book really resonated with me. An attachment to a book/series read as a child, an author who is as magical and mad as a character in their books and people with good hearts who have a chance to solve their adult problems by practically escaping into stories from their childhood and it's all wrapped up in a competition - I loved it. I know the relationship between Christopher and Lucy inappropriate considering her job but it did touch me as did Hugo's relationship with Davey.
