Covers the women’s collective interest in true crime from four different vantage points, both broadly and in depth looks at four women who represent each define category. The author also reflects on her own relationship with an interest in true crime. Well told and interesting. A lot of thoughtful investigative work went into the book so as to not leave gaps for the reader. You get all the info to make your own judgements and draw conclusions about yourself. I’d heard of all the women who were looked into, but learned new things about each. While the goal was definitely to make the reader reflect on their consumption of crime as entertainment, it didn’t feel preachy or holier-than-tho.
