Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty

5.0

What a fantastic read. My familiarity with her youtube channel compliments this book in the way of being able to hear her voice crystal clear in her writing. There was shock, there was sadness, there was laughter and there was comfort. This book illuminates various components of death that don't necessarily occur naturally in today's society. My only regret is not having read this sooner and had been aware of things before they applied to my life as I lived through the deaths of those closest to me. I will never be able to forget the important questions that confront my instinctive fears and will carry them with me wherever I go. I wish I could thank this author from the deepest parts of my being for the validation and pure love that pours out of this book.
