The Nightingale Prince by Zack Bel

3.0

Toby’s dad dies and he caught his boyfriend cheating on him when he returned from the funeral. As an aspiring artist who works as a barista, it’s bad news. Then he learns that his estranged grandfather died and left his large estate to him.
With nothing else, he goes to investigate. He learns about his true identity and the identity of his mother’s family.

This author feels like they are on the path to becoming great. I’ve not read many debut novels where I am visually transported and don’t get lost to the story. There were a lot of inconsistencies and the plot could use some pacing work, but it was still a decent book.
I’m eager to follow this author and see what their later work is like because my bet is that it will improve and be immersive and clear.
