I really enjoyed the previous three books in the series, and I do like the characters in this book and it’s interesting to get little character studies of them and sort of the backstory of Marcus. But essentially largely, it’s more like a series of interwoven novellas. Plot wise nothing really happens in this book which didn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it, but I kept waiting for something. Gripping to occur. Also Gallowglass is barely in it which I personally feel is a crime. Also, I really need Phoebe to be a more flawed character. She does everything right and it’s making it really hard to enjoy her which is uncommon with the characters in the series. I find all of them very lovable even when they’re horrible.
