Paw Prints in the Moonlight: The Heartwarming True Story of One Man and his Cat by Denis O'Connor

1.0

I really, really, really, REALLY wanted to like this book. The cover is adorable and the premise sounds purr-fectly delightful, but the author's writing style was too much for me. It was too focused on describing the idyllic-ness of his cabin, too effusive in delighting in nature, and too slow for me to continue reading. I had this book lying next to my bed for WEEKS as I tried to get myself to just get through one more description of his written commune with nature, and couldn't get past page 50. Even though I won this as a giveaway, I have to be honest about my thoughts. I would love to learn more about his relationship with his cat and how his cat overcomes his difficult beginnings - but the writing style just killed this book for me. After more than a month had gone by, and the sense of dread I felt every time I LOOKED at the cover, I gave up on finishing this book.
