I am really enjoying this series so far and book two was a definite step up from book one imo.
There was better flow, a more engaging romance, and the author’s writing is getting stronger.
For me, I felt like Lilo was a smidge on the boring side especially compared to Griffin. Her selflessness and giving nature was at times, a little insufferable. It bordered more on being a doormat than being a beacon of generosity.
I love her background and reasoning for being so selfless and wish we could have had just a tad more plot involving that.
Griffin is a compelling mmc and I loved his pov. The trauma he went through and the impact it’s had on his life was well done.
I will say though, the final battle was a bit anticlimactic for me. I wanted a bit more of and internal struggle from him but it just kind of wrapped up pretty easily.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and can’t wait to continue with this series!
