The Bi-ble: An Anthology of Essays on Bisexuality by Ellen Desmond, Lauren Nickodemus

4.0

Bisexuals make up the largest percentage of the LGBTQ+ community but their voices are often missing from queer discourse. The Bi-Bible attempts to address that with essays from different people across the bi+ community looking at a huge variety of topics. Discussions around mental health and suicide (bisexuals are twice as likely as gay and lesbians and four times as likely as heterosexuals to have attempted suicide). Sexual assault and abuse (again bisexuals are at higher risk of both than homo or heterosexuals). Intersections between bi+ identities and being black, disabled, non binary etc. Invisibility and erasure but also the joy and hope in finding community, representation and acceptance, love, pleasure and pride.

An important book which celebrates and highlights the voices of a marginalised and often invisible identity.
