A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

5.0

Towles’ writing gives me major Lemony Snicket vibes, along with wonderfully lyrical prose. While some reviews bemoan the fact that “nothing ever happens” —90% of the narrative is set within the four walls of a hotel—I actually enjoyed how the story took its time to expound on small, mundane observations of human behaviour.

A 5-star book is one that I look forward to re-reading, and AGIM is definitely one of them.
