So freaking good.
Maximo is the best kind of mafia man. The kind who loves full force, to obsession. Who controls, lovingly, with an iron fist. Who destroys anything or anyone that threatens or hurts his woman.
Juliet is that perfect mixture of brave, strong, and innocent. She looks down death with a proudly raised chin. She’s smart and knows when to take advantage of a semi dark situation.
This was a smut-tastic good time. Plenty of action and romance thrown in to keep it moving along. I loved the banter and witty remarks that Juliet provides.
I also really like this softer side of the Daddy Dom kink. It was perfectly intertwined to make everything just that much better.
There was a pretty significant age gap. We meet the characters when Juliet is 17 and Maximo is 32, though nothing happens until Juliet is officially 18.
No age play, but some spanking, big dose of power play, and a heavy helping of ‘Daddy’ being used as an honorific.
It just made everything hotter.
I forgot how much I enjoy Layla Frost’s writing, but this just rekindled my excitement.
