In Light of All Darkness: Inside the Polly Klaas Kidnapping and the Search for America's Child by Kim Cross

5.0

I finished this book 30 years (plus one day) after the discovery of Polly Klaas’s body, and I remember seeing her photo on the cover of People magazine as though it was yesterday - Polly was just a couple of years younger than me and the notion that someone could just take you from a sleepover in your own bedroom has never left my brain. Author Kim Cross did an incredible job taking a story that a lot of people already know, and one with a tragic ending, and making it as compelling as any thriller you’ve read, all the while showcasing the important and impactful changes that were made in our approach to child kidnappings in the United States. A tough but inspiring read.
