The Complete Gillian Flynn: Gone Girl, Dark Places, Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
2.0
Books with unreliable narrators are enjoyable and interesting to me. These two, Amy and Nick, though? I didn't even remotely like either of them. In fact the only even remotely likable character in the book is the woman detective, Rhonda Boney. While not being likable isn't necessarily a deal breaker - loved Girl on a Train and the main character there wasn't likable either - Amy and Nick are intolerably unlikable. Nick is a whiny dumbass and Amy is a narcissistic sociopath. Two stars for excellent writing by Ms. Flynn and for the well done insight into a disturbed mind.
