Wolfblade by Jennifer Fallon

4.0

I feel in love with the treachery around every corner. Once you learned of certain characters circle of friends, their thoughts, their actions, their speech or how they approached a situation, anything was possible. Anything is still possible in the next installment "Warrior".

This is basically how I felt when I had time to read the book... Finger licking good read...

The espionage network Fallon detailed was amazing, with dramatic schemes and every day backstabbing. The characters, each had their own personal traits, from righteous to cowardly, murderer to slave, self discovery to entitlement, the first book of the Wolfblade trilogy had almost every component needed to satisfy me. I became attached to characters only to have them bury in the next chapter.

I can admit that I wasn't a fan of Marla. She seemed a bit annoying at times (most of the times if I can really say), especially having fallen head over heels for a man she didn't even know, just because of a smile. And to cling on to his every gasps and winks, it made me almost pity the foolish girl. For her ignorance. Thinking that she knew better than anyone. She did not. Even those that warned her fell for certain tactics/ manipulations.

As for Wrayan, he is by far my favourite from the living and deceased cast. His past and linage still intrigues me in a way. He also had the most evolution out of all the characters in my opinion. With the gods having big plans for him, the intrigue is at an all time high.

I feel like the next volume will feature more of the neighboring country and the Harshini more, as Hythrun's prominent cast has been depleted a bit and needs a bit of fresh blood if we are to see the conclusion for events that have yet to be given closure at the end of Wolfblade.
