Well it was good but like others said a bit repetitive compared to book 1: the dragon is hired to protect a human and realises he’s his mate.
I read book 1 in April so there was enough time that I still remembered the world but had forgotten enough that I didn’t feel like this sequel was too similar but I wouldn’t recommend reading those back to back.
In the first book he has to protect him from a stalker, here it’s from something invisible. The mystery was interesting at first but the solution was quickly obvious so it got a bit boring as it dragged on and repetitive: they open up about each other, Dempsey is exhausted, they discover a tiny information and the cycle repeats.
I also fell like they were kind of flat. We don’t know much about them outside the fact that they love books and antiques. Honestly I’m feeling more intrigued by the other brothers but I don’t think I’ll go ahead with their books. Or maybe way later.
Their meeting didn’t make sense either: the guy is worried about his shop so he accepts to travel to London with the bodyguard he just met because the guy can’t miss his trip. I know they’re mates and all but from the human POV it seemed really weird (he does talk about it but I still thought it was a bit too much)
Overall I think the length was what made it a bit boring for me.
And to finish, I know it’s a detail but it’s going to haunt me sorry
