The Minders by John Marrs
4.5
This was a fascinating concept. I'm really sad to now read the reviews that say I should've read his other 'future' books first!
Overall, this was some of the best like adult near-future fiction I've read I think. There was enough grounded detail for it to feel believable even though the concept is so wild.
I also found it easy to keep track of lots of characters, which is a testament to the book bc I often struggle with that!
It lost half a star because I felt like the end came tumbling all at once. The story was driving along and then suddenly there was a crescendo and it was done. I would've liked the pace to pick up a little earlier, as I was starting to get a tiny bit bogged down.
It was very violent, but not unnecessarily so.
