TROPES: Grumpy / Sunshine, Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Opposites Attract, Small Town Romance.
SPICE: 3 stars (a couple of s*x scenes but overall was vanilla / traditional s*x).

PLOT: Holly Winters loves Christmas so much that she owns and operates a holiday shop in Mistletoe, Idaho and also has a YouTube / online persona called “Holly the Adventure Elf”, where she dresses up like an elf and does adventurous and daredevil type activities for her fans. Her holiday shop is next door the town’s hardware store which is run by Declan Gallagher. Declan hates Christmas so much he is always asking Holly to keep her music down and soon they’re both engaged in a prank war. They decide to put their differences aside when Declan’s handyman skills are required to assist Holly in installing her outside Christmas decorations and lights to participate in the towns light festival.

MY THOUGHTS: The story was cute. I liked hearing that Holly has done really well with her Adventure Elf series and that she used that money to start up her business and buy her own house. It was so great to read a self-sufficient heroine that was sure of herself, what she wanted and that she was just wanting to have fun. It seemed real in that she felt like she was getting a bit old to keep doing stunts and wanted to transition her channel into something less thrill seeking and struggles with what to do next.

I also like that Declan was an artist as well as a handyman. MINOR SPOILER: His fathers health issues and this parents dynamics was an interesting story as well and I liked reading about how he was navigating through it all.

Overall, this was a light, fun Christmas read that you don't really have to think too much about.
