Infinite Powers: How Calculus Reveals the Secrets of the Universe by Steven Strogatz
5.0
When I read the "The Joy of x", I was a tad bit disappointed with Strogatz - it simply did not feel like a book. However, I am simply glad that that did not change my decision of reading this book. This is quite literally a masterpiece. Filled not just with anecdotes, but also a reasonable dose of mathematics, this has to be among the finest "science" books ever written for the general public. In fact, even though I studied calculus more than 5 years ago, this book has instilled in me a new sense of discovery as I plan to embark on a journey to dig deeper into this wonderful subject, all thanks to Strogatz.
